Trailer condition checklist

• Inspect tires for proper inflation, tread, cracking, flat spots and visible age.
• Check wheel bearings, lug nuts, axles and suspension for obvious problems.
• Verify running lights, brake lights, turn signals and license-plate light.
• Confirm trailer brakes and the breakaway switch operate correctly when equipped.
• Inspect the coupler, kingpin, gooseneck, safety chains and electrical connector.
• Secure ramps, gates, doors, windows, awnings, slide-outs, jacks and stabilizers.
• Remove or secure loose items inside and outside the trailer.
• Verify legal registration or documentation as required for the move.

Pickup and delivery access

• Provide accurate addresses and contact information for both locations.
• Make sure there is adequate room to approach, connect, turn and exit.
• Disclose soft ground, low branches, narrow gates, steep grades or restricted access.
• Have keys, locks and any necessary instructions ready for the driver.

Special trailer considerations

Horse, livestock, boat, RV, dump, tanker, refrigerated, air-brake and oversized trailers can require additional checks. Tell us about non-operating brakes, tire problems, missing lights or other concerns when requesting the quote.
